Caldmore on the Beach Open Day

Caldmore on the Beach Open Day with special performance Life’s a Beach from Black Country Touring at Caldmore Community Garden!

Life’s A Beach:

A brand new show premiering in July 2017 through a partnership between Black Country Touring and So Festival in Skegness. The show will draw on stories of seasonal visitors and year round residents. Supported by Magna Vitae , Creative Black Country, & Arts Council England.

Three caravans – each one a specially created performance space, each one a different part of an experience shared across cultures – the British seaside.

Three unique shows created from interviews with the people of the Black Country and Skegness. Together, they explore the glitz, the grot, and fish & chips; the sea, the sand and the seagulls ; the wind, the waves and the fairground rides that make our holiday experience.

But what’s it like to live there all year round? Meet the bingo caller who dresses as Elvis and the Lifeboat crew who keep us safe.

Event programme:

‣ 12-1pm Meet the characters of the show LIFE’S A BEACH.
‣ 1-4pm – Series of performances in three theatre caravans.
‣ Free screen printing workshop – print your own bag.
‣ Arts and crafts, face painting, family games, tombola.
‣ BBQ and cake, snacks & drinks at our community cafe.

Circus Open Day at Caldmore Community Garden!

D & F Bros Grand Indian Circus performance and workshop:
D & F Bros. Grand Indian Circus has been specially created by Rhythms and Ragas in collaboration with Access All Areas and 30ips for touring in 2018 to celebrate Circus250, marking the 250th anniversary of the World’s first circus appearing in London in 1768.
Rajasthan is home to the most elite of street circus performers; this fascinating region’s legendary entertainment communities combine their amazing skills – with optional live musical support from the World famous Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band- in performing breathtaking acts of courage and bravery. Preserved over many centuries from the time of the Maharajas, they take this ancient, mystical and magical circus format to even greater heights.
The cast of dancers, illusionists, aerialists, acrobats and rope walkers, with the eye-watering displays by their fakir, present a colourful, vibrant, fast-moving extravaganza of intrigue, drama, feats of daring, music, laughter and surprise.

Event programme:
‣ 1pm Circus workshop.
‣ 2pm and 3pm – D&F Bros Grand Indian Circus performances.
‣ 4pm – Dreaming the Green – Grand Opening of the Caldmore Green mosaic.
‣ Arts and crafts, face painting and mendhi.
‣ BBQ and cake, snacks & drinks at our community cafe.
